"Ask Vic" is published on Monday and Thursday through the offseason.

The headline and three questions about Clay Matthews? You do understand the concept of trolling, don’t you? Rodgers, Cobb and Bakhtiari were having some fun with the media and you fell for it hook, line and sinker. Are you slowing down a step? Maybe it’s time for GM Vic to step in. I sure hope not. Or are you just bored?
You do understand the concept of this column, don't you? Readers ask questions, I answer them. I don't write the questions. Monday's column was shorter than usual because Matthews dominated my inbox.

Is Rodgers intentionally acting like a (donkey) just so he’ll be less valuable trade stock next winter? Is this his way of being spiteful?
He's just having some fun. Are you?
John from Sioux Falls, SD
Special teams also seem to be one of those things that’s part of a team’s DNA. Green Bay has traditionally been lackluster on coverage/returns, despite a revolving door of new coaches. Is bad special teams play the price paid for keeping six or seven receivers who can’t/won’t play teams?
Receivers, linebackers and defensive backs define special teams. You need to find players from those three groups who excel on teams. When you reach into the reserves of those three groups, players such as Jake Kumerow, the ability to play special teams should be job one.

You're in heaven and handed a daily activities list but you can only do one: 1. Cruise the "Redneck Riviera" with Ken Stabler in his speed boat. 2. Go wine tasting in Napa with Chuck Noll. 3. Watch game film with Lombardi down in his basement lounge. 4. Spend the day with Bum Phillips on his horse ranch. 5. Have a hot dog in your favorite press box. Which one would you choose?
I would choose No. 5 and the press box would be in Three Rivers Stadium when the game was real, I was young and I felt as though I was covering something of great importance. The game promoted an air of confrontation in the press box back then. The day Joe Greene carried an unconscious Lynn Swann from the field, I felt as though I was covering something disturbing. I didn't like it then, so why do I miss it now?

Any takeaways from the Jags?
It's going to take time. It's not going to happen this year. Nothing about the Jags' performance against the Browns was startling or worrisome. The only thing I don't like is Coach Meyer having used a lack of scheme as an excuse for his team's poor play.
Brad from Jacksonville, FL
Vic, this Schobert trade is baffling. What’s the logic in paying half a guy's salary and only taking a sixth-round pick for him when he’s gonna start where he goes?
They waited too long to trade him. Training camp isn't a time when teams are trying to add players. A new broom sweeps clean. Meyer/Baalke judged Schobert to be a big mistake by Marrone/Caldwell. Eighteen million dollars for one season of play is embarrassing; that's quarterback money. The new staff wanted Schobert off the books. Rivera did the same thing with Haskins. Rivera didn't want to deal with a quarterback he didn't pick.

How much does having Aaron Rodgers at quarterback help the run game?
Plenty, but you have to run the ball.
Neil from Cheddar, UK
Do you think the NFL will eventually put all games on some form of pay-for-subscription, or will they keep most games with the big U.S. TV networks?
Network TV gives the NFL the greatest exposure and marketing potential. Why change, as long as TV is willing to pay the huge sums it's paying?
Bill from Pittsburgh, PA
Have you read "The Ones Who Hit the Hardest"? It's a great look at the Steelers of the '70's and the collapse of the steel industry. Great read; can't recommend it highly enough.
It was the best of times; it was the worst of times.
Bob from Marietta, GA
In this type of trade (Josh Jackson for Isaac Yiadom), are the teams hoping for an improvement based on a change of scenery or a change of scheme?
Usually, teams make this kind of trade because they liked the guy when he was coming out of college. The Packers lost faith in Jackson but believe they have need at cornerback. Should we read something into what this says about Eric Stokes?
Rick from Savanna, IL
Does a BLT need to be on toasted or untoasted bread? You're opinion would be greatly appreciated.
Toasted bread helps lock in the delicious grease. You don't want a soggy sandwich and you don't want grease stains on your shirt. It's similar to making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. PBJ connoisseurs know the secret to a good PBJ is coating each slice of bread with peanut butter so the jelly doesn't leak out a hole in the bread.

Vic, you stated before the first preseason game we should be watching to see if Jordan Love showed evidence (he could become) "The Man." Did you see any evidence to tell you he has the capability to be "The Man"?
Not in one half of the first preseason game, but I also didn't see anything that said he couldn't become "The Man." Let's trudge on, watch and weigh. What's the rush, right? We have at least one more year of the "beautiful mystery" before we need to decide.
Samuel from Jacksonville, FL
What kind of runner was Herschel Walker?
He was a power back with sprinter speed.
Matt from St. Augustine, FL
Many in Jacksonville are taking the calm down approach right now after last Saturday's game, but I was seriously bothered by the Jags' starters getting manhandled by Cleveland's backups. Methinks this could be another very long season.
This is a go-back-to-start season. Patience is the approach.
Robert from Santa Fe, NM
The Jaguars really make it difficult to be a fan. The embarrassment they did to themselves over Tim Tebow can never be overcome. They are really the equivalent of a clown show.
You're exaggerating. In time, it'll pass but, as I predicted, the Tebow odyssey could define Urban Meyer. It is right now.
Leif from Frederic, WI
Who’s your No. 2 for the Steelers this year?
Ultimately, I think it'll be Haskins. I expect Colbert to trade Rudolph. Haskins has much greater upside.
